
Dr. Paul Bernard Bartos, age 75, of Canton, Ohio, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on June 2, 2026.
Paul was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Ethel Bartos and grew up as one of nine siblings. He went on to dedicate his life to caring for others, building a career as a family physician. As a founding doctor of Family Physicians in Canton, Ohio, he served several generations of patients with skill, compassion, and steady dedication.
Paul was married to his beloved wife, Carol Bartos née Jarosz, for more than 50 years. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and commitment. He was a devoted father to Sarah, Emily and her husband, Hank Moore, Patrick, and Christopher; and a loving grandfather to Levi, Isaac, Iris, and Stella.
Through his roles as physician, husband, father, and grandfather, Paul devoted himself to taking care of the people around him. He loved his family deeply and was deeply loved in return. He will be remembered for his humor, quiet generosity, balance of work ethic and love for life, and unwavering commitment to family.
He leaves behind a legacy of service, kindness, love, and laughter that will continue in the lives of those who knew him.
A private burial for the family will be held at Foxfield Preserve, a natural burial ground in Wilmot, Ohio. A public Mass and celebration of Paul’s life will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Canton, Ohio, with details to be announced at a later date.
